The Avi Resort & Casino is excited to announce that Gaming, Food and Beverage operations will resume at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020. The Avi has implemented health and safety protocols with enhanced training for all Team Members to ensure the highest level of protection is provided to both Guests and Team Members.
During Phase I of the reopening, the Slot Floor, Feathers Café, Mojave Roast Coffee, Road Runner Bar, Gift Shop, and KOA RV Park will be open. A limited number of hotel rooms will open on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Gaming, Food and Beverage venues will be have limited occupancy. Once capacity is reached, additional Guests will not be allowed in the facility until occupancy is reduced below that maximum level.
Until further notice, Table Games, Keno, Moonshadow Grille, Aha Cantina, Native Harvest Buffet, Subway, Thrifty Ice Cream, Banquets/Ballroom, Arrowweed Bar, Whispers Bar, Tiki Bar, Valet, Brenden Theaters, Arcade, Pool, Beach, Boat Ramp and Dock are closed. The reopening of temporarily closed venues will be announced in the near future. Bingo is permanently closed.
All Team Members returning to work have been tested for COVID-19. Each Avi Team Member has participated in the AMMCO Environmental Services Training program learning how to properly apply EPA approved COVID-19 disinfectants. The training program also included how to properly wear and remove personal protective equipment (PPE). As part of the PPE initiatives, all Avi Team Members will be required to wear a mask.
To further ensure everyone’s safety, non–invasive temperature checks will take place at point of entry for both Team Members and Guests. With new CDC guidelines, all Guests will be required to comply with social distancing protocols. Signage will be visible throughout the property as a social distancing courtesy reminder. Management strongly recommends Guests wear a mask. Masks will be available to all Guests as a courtesy. Additional signage noting handwashing guidance, elevator occupancy levels, parking instructions, vehicle and pedestrian traffic directions will be posted. As enhanced safety measures, the Avi has installed Plexiglas spacers between slot machines and additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the property.

Spirit Mountain Casino is excited to invite the community to “run to the mountain” Monday, June 8, 2020 when the property resumes Gaming, Food and Beverage operations. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. with new and robust health and safety protocols ensuring the highest level of protection for both Guests and employees.

Slot machine play will be limited to every other machine, with chairs removed from non-operational slot machines. Avi Resort & Casino and Spirit Mountain Casino, in collaboration with West Family Practice, Dr. Gerald West, his authorized staff members and University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (“UMC”) will test all Avi and Spirit Mountain Team Members for COVID – 19 prior to reopening each casino. The tests will be facilitated by West Family Practice. As Avi and Spirit Mountain have been preparing to reopen, health and safety has been and will continue to be, the top priority for ensuring the well-being of our Team Members and Guests. All Team Members returning to work must be tested with negative results.

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- The Avi Resort & Casino in Laughlin, Nevada announced on Monday it would temporarily close from midnight June 29 through July 10.
The decision was made after a planned retesting of 400 employees resulted in 'a few team members' testing positive for COVID-19.
'In keeping with our core values of ensuring the safety and health of our team members and guests, we believe a few is too many,' the company wrote in a press release. The statement also said the significant rise in cases 'in the local area is of utmost concern.'

The closure will allow the property to re-examine every aspect of the operation, the statement said, including disinfection procedures, social distancing measures, health checks, testing protocols, masking and how to best protect guests and employees.
All hotel reservations for arrival dates up to July 10 will be canceled and fully refunded. All guests with existing reservations will be given a comp for a future trip.
