Slot Loading Drives vs. Tray Loading Drives I'm excited for the slot loading drive, much easier to insert and remove discs and (with kids on the way) I don't have to worry about the tray getting snapped off, etc. A tray load means you push a button and a tray comes out for you to lay the disk on to push the button again to load. A slot would be like the old A drive floppy disk where you just push the disk in a slot. Remembered a friend back in 1998 bought a slot loading optical drive, and had a debate of slot vs tray loaders.
So now I will resurrect this epic battle.
(for the uninitiated, the majority of optical drives are tray loaded (ie you press the eject button and a tray slides out for you to put your disks in) though there's a few slot loaders around the place)

i love slot loaders. the are usually smaller and definitely add a level of sleekness to the device.

how so? with a tray loader, the tray can break off
a slot loader is a lot harder to break...

You've got to be extra stupid to break a tray, not sure but for some reason every slot loader I've ever met has had some issues. Maybe it's just my luck
